500 Followers!!!

Hey, guys! I’m OVERJOYED to announce that The Wheelchair Teen hit five hundred followers last week!

The Wheelchair Teen started with me scribbling down some early memories and random thought trains in the notes app of the first iPhone I ever had. When I turned seventeen, I decided to post some of them here online without much expectation that people would care. I started out quite angry at the world and I hadn’t come to terms with my disability yet. I wrote under a pseudonym and never showed my face on my blog. So much has changed since then.

Now I’m honestly so overwhelmed by all of the positive reactions and support from my incredible followers. Thank you to each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. I can’t describe in words how much all of you have helped me to overcome and to accept what happened to me in the past. I’ve definitely found my voice here and the fact that five hundred people care is amazing!!! Thanks so much, everyone!

I’m glad that you enjoy how I talk simply about complex topics – my goal is to address serious issues that disabled people face in an easy to understand and sometimes fun way 😊 I’ll keep writing and rocking, so long as you stay being creative and posting your incredible short stories to your blog ❤😊❤

I feel like interaction is key when it comes to getting more followers – it really helps to look for other blogs similar to yours and to read them and comment on them so that they’ll find out about you and you might even make some new blogger friends. I also like and reply to every single comment people leave on my blog to interact with them which is also key. It’s also good to include five to ten non-specific tags on every post you publish so people can find you through WordPress.
